NOTE: You will be getting two (2) 3-inch latex foams, same ILD's only, that are priced at discount. You get the cost benefit of buying a 6 inch mattress but the flexibility of having two layers instead of one. Here are the benefits of having two separate pieces:

1. It is easier to manage a lighter foam. A 6-inch bare E King size foam weighs between approximately 64lbs and 92 lbs, depending on the firmness;

2. There is more flexibility with two pieces than with one solid piece. If the total of 6 inch turns out to be too firm or too soft for you, you may return one of the two for a softer or firmer foam. Of course, the other option is to place an inch or two on top of the 6 -inch combination to fine tune it to the firmness that you need.

Would the layers shift? Not really. It will be up to you to keep both layers together inside an encasement, like a zipper cover. A decent encasement will ensure more that the independent layers don't shift significantly.
